Islam and Generosity (Sakhawat): More Generous than Hatim Tai (Generosity Quotes)

Liberality QuotesHatim Tai was addressed: "Have you gone over any one more liberal than yourself?"

Hatim Tai answered: "Indeed, I have"

Hatim Tai was inquired: "Where?"

Hatim Tai said: I had been going in the desert when I went over a tent. Inside it there was an old woman while behind the tent a goat lay tied. At the point when the old woman saw me she moved toward me and held the reins of my pony so I could get off. A little later, her child showed up and was monstrously satisfied to have me as their visitor. The old woman said to him: "Initiate the arrangements to engage our visitor. Proceed to butcher the goat and set up some food."

The child said: "First I will proceed to gather some kindling," yet the old woman said: "Going to the desert and bringing the kindling will devour a great deal of time because of which our visitor would need to stay hungry for long, and this would be in opposition to social behavior."

So the child, breaking the main two spears that he had, butchered the goat, arranged the food and introduced it before me. At the point when I explored about their condition, I understood that the goat had been their main belonging and in spite of this, they had butchered it for me. I said to the old woman: "Do you remember me?" When she answered in the negative, I said: "I'm Hatim Tai. You should accompany me to my clan so I can engage you and give you gifts and presents!"

The old woman said: "Neither do we look for any award from our visitors nor do we sell bread for cash, and she would not acknowledge a single thing from me." Witnessing this liberality, I understood that they were undeniably more liberal and kind than me.
