A True Muslim Leader

When Hadhrat Umar (Radhiyallaho Anho), during his caliphate, was going on his standard rounds towards Harrah (a suburb of Madinah) with his slave Aslam, when he saw a far off fire in the desert. He said, "There is by all accounts a camp. Maybe, a parade couldn't enter the town because of dusk. We should proceed to take care of them and mastermind their security during the evening."

At the point when he came to there, he discovered a lady and a few kids. The youngsters were crying. The lady had a skillet of water over the fire. Hadhrat Umar (Radhiyallaho Anho) welcomed her with salaam and, with her authorization, went close to her. (The lady didn't perceive that it was Umar).

Umar, "For what reason are these youngsters crying?"

The Woman, "Since they are ravenous."

Umar, "What is in the dish?"

The Woman, "Just water to mitigate the kids, so they might rest in the conviction that food is being ready for them. Ok! Allah will decide as to Umar (Radhiyallaho Anho) and me, on the Day of Judgment, for ignoring me in my pain."

Umar (sobbing), "May Allah show kindness toward you! How could Umar know about your misery?"

The Woman, "When he is our Amir, he should keep himself educated with regards to us."

Hadhrat Umar (Radhiyallaho Anho) got back to the town and straight away went to the Baitul Mal (House of Charity) to fill a sack with flour, dates, fat, and garments, and furthermore drew some cash. At the point when the sack was prepared, he said to Aslam, "Presently put this sack on my back, Aslam."

Aslam, "No please, Amir-ul-Momineen! I will convey this sack."

Umar wouldn't pay attention to Aslam, even on his persevering solicitations to permit him to convey the sack, and commented, "What! Will you convey my heap on the Day of Judgment? I should convey this pack, for I would be addressed (in the Hereafter) about this lady."

Aslam most hesitantly positioned the sack on Umar's (Radhiyallaho Anho) back, who conveyed it with a quick speed right to the lady's tent. Aslam followed at his heels. He put a little flour and a few dates and fat in the container and started to mix. He blew (with his mouth) into the fire to arouse it.

Aslam says, "I saw the smoke going through his thick facial hair."

After some time, the pottage was prepared. He, when all is said and done, served it to the family. At the point when they had eaten to their fill, he made over to them the little that was left for their next feast. The kids were extremely cheerful after their dinner and started to play about joyfully.

The lady felt exceptionally thankful and commented, "May Allah reward you for your consideration! Truth be told you have the right to replace Khalifah rather than Umar."

Umar supported her and said, "When you come to see the Khalifah, you will see me there."

He sat for some time at a spot nearby and continued to watch the kids. He then, at that point, gotten back to Madinah. Coming back, he said to Aslam, "Do you know why I stayed there, Aslam? I had seen them sobbing in trouble. I got a kick out of the chance to see them chuckling and glad for quite a while."
