Surah Yusuf: The Most Beautiful Story (part 1)
The Qur'an considers it The Most Beautiful Story. Surah Yusuf is the surah of the Qur'an which is altogether devoted to one subject. The whole surah is completely devoted to the story and no where in the surah is there any deviation. There is certainly a secret astuteness behind this reality considering each other surah with in excess of 10 ayah has various topics and stories. The record of the existence of Prophet Yusuf (as) in the Qur'an is quite possibly the most nitty gritty and particularly entrancing accounts of all. It shows the characteristics, which are the essentials for accomplishment in this life and in the great beyond, while exhibiting the accountable attributes in man which lead to his destruction and disappointment. As Ibn Kathir referenced in his book, Stories of the Prophets, it is a story,
"including both human shortcomings like desire, disdain, pride, energy, misdirection, interest, remorselessness, dread just as honorable characteristics like persistence, dependability, dauntlessness, respectability and sympathy".
Prophet Yusuf (as) came from a line of prophets. He was the child of Prophet Ya'qub (as). Ya'qub (as) granddad was Prophet Ishaq (as), who was the child of Prophet Ibrahim (as). Along these lines, it did not shock his dad when it became evident that Yusuf (as) was bound to get heavenly disclosure.
The tale of Yusuf (as) starts with the happy news of his prophethood. Following that a progression of terrible occasions and hardships follow which at last finish in progress and brilliance when Yusuf (as) becomes leader of Egypt. The story begins with his fantasy about himself and finishes with his translation of that very dream.
Yusuf (as) as a youngster was the most darling child of his dad, Prophet Ya'qub (as). Yusuf (as) envisioned that 11 stars, the sun, and the moon were all doing sajdah to him. He proceeded to educate his dad concerning this fantasy immediately. After catching wind of the fantasy, Ya'qub (as) understood that this was truth be told a sign from Allah (swt) and a solid sign of Yusuf (as) future status of prophet. Ya'qub (as) cautioned youthful Yusuf (as) about desire of others and exhorted him not to advise his fantasy to his siblings out of dread they would begrudge his status. His siblings were at that point very exhausted and irritated of him due to Ya'qub (as) treating him with partiality.
Yusuf (as) had one more full sibling by the name of Binyamin. His different siblings short Binyamin felt that Yusuf (as) was denying them of their dads love. The didn't mind that it was a result of Yusuf (as) excellent conduct and character which enriched this extraordinary love and warmth from Yaqub (as). His siblings formulated an abhorrent plot to eliminate Yusuf (as) from this position.
After much plotting and contriving, Yusuf (as) siblings concocted an abhorrent arrangement to oust and banish Yusuf (concerning) a distant land away from them. They were an exceptionally smart and clever gathering of siblings. They welcomed Yusuf (as) to go out with them and afterward tossed him down a well and left him there. The siblings got back to Ya'qub (as) in a condition of phony distress and disclosed to him that a bunch of wolves had eaten Yusuf (as). As evidence, they showed Ya'qub (as) Yusuf (as) shirt which they absorbed sheep's blood to make their story trustworthy. After hearing this series of falsehoods, Ya'qub (as) realized his children were lying, and his reaction to his children is in Surah Yusuf where he says,
“He said, ‘Nay, but yourselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allah (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that which you assert’.” [
Surah Yusuf, Ayah 18
Confronting a particularly extraordinary misfortune, Prophet Ya'qub (as) reaction was one that the ummah can gain from. Ya'qub (as) didn't surrender and lose trust in Allah (swt), nor was he irate with Allah (swt) for his misfortune. All things considered, he stayed patient and seeked shelter in the assistance of the Best of Planners, Allah (swt). Allah (swt) says,
And Allah was the All-Knower of what they did.”
Surah Yusuf, Ayah 19
Allah (swt) was completely mindful of the situation that were transpiring and could've halted the insidious siblings. Notwithstanding, Allah (swt) and His limitless prescience and astuteness declared something else. Allah (swt) let the detestable siblings have a concise good feeling, in return for Yusuf (as) monstrous achievement and authority over a whole country.
While Prophet Yusuf (as) is sitting in the well, a parade stopped at the well and found this youthful attractive man at the lower part of the well. The parade shippers safeguarded Yusuf (as) and accepting him as a captive to Egypt and had him offered to the main pastor of Egypt. The central clergyman before long understood that Yusuf (as) was unique and had incredible intelligence and potential. Thus, he requested his significant other, Zulaikha to be benevolent and neighborly to Yusuf (as) and give him an agreeable life. His excursion to Egypt is described in Surah Yusuf when Allah (swt) says,
Thus did We establish Yusuf in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of events. And Allah has full power and control over His Affairs, but most of men know not.”
Surah Yusuf, Ayah 21
Allah (swt) had an arrangement from the start to take Yusuf (as) out of his country in Shaam (space of Palestine, Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon) and carry him to Egypt for an extraordinary fate ahead. Allah (swt) likewise permitted Yusuf (as) siblings to submit malicious demonstrations which additionally tie into Allah's (swt) more prominent arrangement.
When Zulaikha begins dealing with Yusuf (as), she can't resist the urge to see his striking looks and magnificence. Allah (swt) had favored Yusuf (similarly as with) extraordinary appeal which was a test for him. The Prophet Muhammad (saw) even said about Yusuf (as), "He was given portion of all magnificence." accordingly Zulaikha endeavors to entice Yusuf (as). Allah (swt) says in the Qur'an when the ladies of Egypt saw Yusuf (as) they said,
How perfect is Allah! No man is this! This is none other than a noble angel!”
Surah Yusuf, Ayah 31
Yusuf (as) was again tried when he was tossed into jail due to fraudulent allegations. Allah (swt) planned this and willed for Yusuf (as) to be in jail due to the indecent ladies. In jail, Yusuf (as) proceeds with his prophetic mission of considering individuals to reality and welcomes his kindred detainees to reality. He went through certain years (conceivably 9) in jail for a wrongdoing that he was erroneously blamed for perpetrating. Then, at that point out of nowhere, the King of Egypt (Note: Qur'an alludes to leader of Egypt as King and not Pharaoh) saw an appalling dream which made him dread for his realm. The King required a translation of his fantasy however none of the translators offered a sound understanding. It was then that a worker in the castle recollected Yusuf (as) and his capacity to decipher dreams. In this way, the King's authorities portrayed the fantasy to Yusuf (as) while he was as yet in jail and his translation was that Egypt would encounter 7 rich years, trailed by 7 years of extreme dry spell. Yusuf (as) prompted the authorities that during these troublesome long periods of the dry season, cautious assignment and conveyance of assets should be executed. He makes reference to that after these 14 years, fruitfulness would get back to Egypt.
At the point when the translation arrived at the King, he felt persuaded and perceived Yusuf (as) excellencies and insight. He requested the quick arrival of Yusuf (as). Notwithstanding, Yusuf (as) would not leave jail except if his name was cleared and guiltlessness announced. The ruler then, at that point explored the claims against Yusuf (as) by Zulaikha and viewed them to be false. Allah (swt) says,
And the king said: ‘Bring him to me that I may attach him to my person.’ Then, when he spoke to him, he said: ‘Verily, this day, you are with us high in rank and fully trusted.”
Surah Yusuf, Ayah 54
Yusuf (as) then, at that point mentioned the King to name him as the pastor of money of Egypt so he could appropriately oversee and assign the assets. Accordingly, Yusuf (as) was currently in a place of force following quite a while of tirelessness despite troublesome tests.
During the long stretches of richness, Ya'qub (as) sent 10 of his children, aside from Binyamin, to Egypt to buy food and different necessities. Yusuf (as) found out about the 10 siblings who had come from a distant land and didn't communicate in the language of the Egyptians. At the point when they mentioned to Yusuf (as) to buy their requirements, Yusuf (as) quickly remembered them, anyway they didn't remember him. Yusuf (as) got them energetically and provided them with their requirements. He asked them where they had come from and they clarified, "We are eleven siblings, the offspring of a respectable prophet. The most youthful is at home watching out for the requirements of our maturing father." Upon hearing this, Yusuf (as) eyes loaded up with tears and his aching for home ballooned in his heart also his yearning for his darling dad and caring sibling Binyamin. He then, at that point asked them, "Are you honest individuals?"
